For a wedding photographer looking for inspiration through cultures, locations and colours, Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris’ ignited an ever present need for me to shoot eloping for what it represents in the city of love, Paris. My incessant need became a reality when I got to shoot Hannah and Simon experiencing love the Parisian way. The movie fanatic in me was ecstatic to shoot my own movie through these pictures. Although, unlike Midnight in Paris, my movie was anti-climactic as Hannah’s bag was robbed just two minutes after we started shooting. We spent next one hour roaming around different police stations without any luck. After all the drama, Hannah was still the perfect muse for my movie with her nonchalant and infectious demeanour by paying little attention to the robbery and effortlessly syncing back into her role. I got the ending I wanted for my movie, and needless to say, like Midnight in Paris, this movie didn’t disappoint and neither did Paris 🙂
